Makizin

Seal Bay Ojibwe Horse Mare

Makizin has come to us as a member of our Ojibwe Horse Breeding and Cultural Program.  Maki is a bright and alert mare who is sensitive and intuitive.  She is strong and grounded and is here to help the first peoples of this land recover from generations of trauma and pain.  The Ojibwe Horse faced near destruction through colonialism and they are now on a journey or recovery; much like the people they are so connected to.  Like the indigenous peoples of Canada, the indigenous ponies are resilient, strong, noble and deeply linked to history.  The Ojibwe Horse is considered sacred.  We are blessed to have Makizin with us.

Mooka'am

Bay Ojibwe Horse Filly

Mookam was born at the Ranch and is a member of our Ojibwe Horse Breeding and Cultural Program.  Mookam means SUNRISE  and, like the rising sun, she is bright and invigorating and life giving.  Mookam, or Mooki as she is affectionately called, is an inquisitive, sweet-natured filly who love attention and adventure. We are blessed to have Mookam with us.

Seraph

No heaven can heaven be, if my horse isn't there to welcome me.

Seraph is a sweet, playful and loving gelding. Seraph has been part of our Equine family since his birth in 2008.

He passed in January of 2017 due to colic.  It was the most agonizing of decisions to set him free from his pain.  His loss is felt daily.  He was a heart horse to many people whose lives he has forever intertwined.  I am grateful for EVERY day we had with him, even his last.  We will always love you Seraph, our fiery angel.

Fly free sweet prince.

Let your hooves pound pastures of evergreen grass,

While the the wind of heaven blows through your mane.

You are gone from here far to soon.

My friend, I will fly with you when we meet again.
